About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our 5-star Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat in Clanwilliam, Western Cape. As a guest-oriented and career-focused individual with strong leadership capabilities, you will be responsible for supporting the F&B Manager in the day-to-day operation of our luxury lodge’s outlets. If you are a hands-on, dynamic professional with solid experience in luxury lodge or boutique hotel F&B operations, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the F&B Manager in the day-to-day operation across outlets
- Maintain strong on-the-floor presence during peak meal periods, assisting with guest relations
- Oversee and manage stock control, monthly stock counts, and discrepancy resolution
- Coordinate operating equipment store, including procurement and issuing
- Finalise duty rosters and ensure effective labour control aligned to business levels
- Assist with planning and execution of F&B special events and promotional activities
- Ensure all guest interactions are handled with professionalism and service recovery excellence
- Manage operating costs in line with budgetary targets
Requirements
- Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience in a 5-star hospitality environment, including at least 2 years in a management role
- Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- POS knowledge (Micros or similar)
- Stock management system knowledge (FnBShop)
- Exposure to Opera PMS (advantageous)
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-year degree in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management
Salary & Benefits
Salary: Market-related, negotiable based on experience.
Work Cycle: 24 days on / 8 days off.
Accommodation: Free shared self-catering on-site single accommodation.
Medical: 50% Discovery Medical Aid contribution or Medical Consultations.
Provident Fund: 7.5% employer contribution.
