About the Role

Our client in the Logistics Industry is seeking a Senior Consultant: Operational Excellence to join their team in KZN. The successful candidate will be responsible for enabling and facilitating the adoption of the operational excellence culture within the KZN Operations through change management, training and coaching of the business units and/or contracts on continuous improvement tools.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a Lean deployment plan which will provide the required return on investment through waste elimination, costs reduction and improved operational efficiencies
Manage the implementation of Operational Excellence program in all KZN operations
Ensure alignment between Operational Excellence initiatives with the BU/accounts strategies
Develop business units’ internal problem solving capacity through training and coaching of problem solving methodologies, Kaizens and Kaizen events
Ensure that Lean foundational practices are entrenched in all areas of responsibilities
Actively participate in the development of Lean Practitioners within own area of responsibility
Act as a Change Agent, facilitate the adoption of the operational excellence culture, identify and remove barriers to success.
Assess the progress on the OE program and provide feedback to the leadership of the area of responsibility.
Assist colleagues in the area of responsibility with measuring, tracking and reporting of the financial benefits from improvement projects.
Investigate and identify opportunities for improvement
As an OE Champion, expand the use of operational excellence methodologies and structured problem solving approach in the business

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management
2 years experience in operations preferably in a Supply Chain environment
3 years experience in implementing OE programs
Lean Six Sigma certification
Change management skills
Project management skills
Basic business acumen
