About the Role

Our client, a leading manufacturer in the packaging and printing industry, is seeking a highly experienced Design Engineer to join their team based in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for engineering integrity, and measurement and maximum focus on item/product delivery, with guidance
Critical decision making
Understanding the process flow of production in order to mitigate incorrect decisions
Understand the holistic product development life cycle from inception to production to assist in decision making process
Planning, organizing and prioritizing workflow
Ensuring on time delivery of engineering function of the production process
Ensure time is managed well to mitigate any delay within engineering function
Work towards project specific timelines
Technical engineering
Create 3D models and drawing packs for manufacturing purposes
Any other reasonable request from management including particular projects as and when needed

Requirements

Mechanical Engineer Diploma or Degree
3-5 Years experience in manufacturing with diverse knowledge of processes
1-2 Years industry experience
Proficiency in 3D CAD (Advantageous if CREO certified)
