About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team at Farm Manager SA. As a key member of our dairy farm, you will be responsible for the daily care and management of our herd, ensuring optimal milk production and animal welfare.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records of cow health, milking schedules, and feeding routines.
- Assist with milking cows, ensuring efficient and hygienic practices are followed.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on farm equipment and facilities.
- Drive tractors and other farm vehicles to facilitate daily operations.
- Monitor and report any issues or concerns related to animal health or farm performance.
Requirements
- Must have a valid passport or work permit
- Agricultural Diploma/Degree highly advantageous
- Min of 1 year previous dairy / livestock experience
- Previous experience with milking of cows
- Must have a passion for dairy cows
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Computer literate
- Strong written and verbal communication in English
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Agricultural Science, Animal Science, or related field is highly advantageous.
