About the Role
Join Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a values-driven Company that cares for its people unconditionally. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of Assore Limited and operate a world-class chrome ore mine in the Limpopo Province. As Shift Overseer – Production (C5) (North Shaft), you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our production process, ensuring safe and cost-effective extraction of chrome ore.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control the ore extraction process by allocating and managing resources (people, equipment, and machinery) to attain production targets.
- Ensure safe implementation of and compliance to the mining cycle process and procedures.
- Train/coach staff on relevant processes and conduct performance tests to ensure competence.
- Keep construction up to standard through effective planning and scheduling.
- Immediately report accidents/incidents to Control Room and Senior Shift Overseer.
- Investigate relevant issues, complete accident/incident reports, and implement preventative measures.
Requirements
- 5 years underground mining experience, including 2 years in a trackless mining environment as a Miner.
- Permanent Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines or National Certificate: Hard Rock Underground.
- Code 08 (B) Drivers Licence.
- Advantageous: Mine Overseer Certificate.
- Advantageous: Grade 12 / Standard 10 Certificate.
Qualifications
- Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
- Completed Permanent Blasting Certificate for Scheduled Mines or National Certificate: Hard Rock Underground.
- Completed Code 08 (B) Drivers Licence.
