About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction HR Manager to join our team in Cape Town. As a key member of our human resources department, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all human resources functions within a fast-paced construction environment. With 68 years of proven HR experience within the construction industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring full compliance with BIBC agreements, labour legislation, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all HR operations across multiple construction sites and head office
- Handle industrial relations, including disciplinary hearings, grievances, and CCMA matters
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, contracts, and workforce planning for site and staff personnel
- Advise management on labour risk, workforce strategies, and employee relations
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance documentation
- Liaise with unions, site management, and external stakeholders where required
Requirements
- 68 years of proven HR experience within the construction industry
- Strong, practical knowledge and understanding of BIBC agreements
- Solid experience in industrial relations and labour law within a site-based environment
- Relevant HR qualification (Degree / Diploma)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
