About the Role
We are seeking an experienced HCV Underwriter to join our team in Roodepoort. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing risks related to heavy commercial vehicles. You will work closely with brokers and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, and internal underwriting standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess new business, renewals, endorsements, and mid-term adjustments
- Analyse risk profiles including vehicle type, usage, routes, driver history, and claims experience
- Determine appropriate premiums, terms, conditions, and excesses
- Provide underwriting support and guidance to brokers and internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate underwriting and policy documentation
- Contribute to portfolio management and profitability
Requirements
- RE5 qualification with full FAIS credits
- Minimum 7 years experience as an HCV Underwriter
- Strong short-term insurance underwriting experience
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Qualifications
