About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Quality Engineer to join our team in South Africa. As a Temp Quality Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that motor vehicle components perform consistently to specification throughout their life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage the qualifying program for new part introduction
  • Implement continuous improvement by identifying the root cause of part deviation from specification and correcting the deviation in all phases of the part’s life cycle
  • Test and evaluate the performance of parts according to the specification
  • Provide technical expertise for complete parts with respect to material and function
  • Initiate design improvements for complex problems on parts
  • Initiate local and CKD claims from suppliers

Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in the manufacturing environment
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable motor vehicle parts, their function, applicable specifications, part manufacturing processes, and testing methods
  • Sound technical knowledge of motor vehicle components and systems
  • Knowledge and application of quality tools, e.g. DOE, SPC, FMEA, 8D
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and related specifications
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Ability to effectively communicate and present to all levels within the company and externally (written and verbally)
  • Ability to work independently
