About the Role

Aleon Pty Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Procurement Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will provide strategic support to the operations in reducing total cost of ownership, while also driving high-value commodity and service strategies. This role requires a strong understanding of contracts, procurement processes, and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the operations in reducing the total cost of ownership of products and services purchased by the Procurement Department.
  • Providing support to the Business Unit Manager in the planning and execution of high value, high risk commodity and service strategies.
  • Interpreting and applying with the assistance of a Legal Team, the various provisions of the contracts within the portfolio.
  • Preparing and issuing RFQs and tenders, analysing responses, preparing comparative analysis of offers received and making commercial recommendations.
  • Working with Category Manager in drawing up of Supply and Service contracts ensuring minimal risk to operations with continuity and security of supply and services.
  • Performing financial calculations to assist in determining the best commercial decision being made.
  • Managing relationships with key customers and ensuring delivery in accordance with SLAs.
  • Developing and executing negotiating strategies in terms of the various contract activities.
  • Interacting across all departments of internal operations as well as the supply chain.
  • Applying industry knowledge to assigned product categories to support sourcing strategy and negotiations.
  • Managing performance review of employees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Supply Chain/Logistic Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Warehouse and Procurement Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years contract management, procurement, and project management experience in supply chain environment.
  • Experience in a Supply Chain environment within the Engineering Manufacturing Industry.
  • Strong management, financial, and negotiating attentiveness.
  • Ability to plan, administer, organise, and pay attention to detail in both daily operational activities as well as in a project management environment.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer literate particularly in MS Office suite.
  • Advanced experience in Syspro ERP application.
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and align with deadlines and requirements of the operations.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Preparedness to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis.
  • Experience in the area of On-Site Work and Services.
