About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Retail Assistant Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail management, with a proven track record of successfully leading teams and driving sales growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily store operations, including stock management, inventory control, and cash handling.
  • Lead a team of employees to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
  • Implement visual merchandising strategies to drive sales and enhance customer engagement.
  • Monitor store cleanliness and maintain high standards of HACCP compliance.
  • Analyze sales data to inform business decisions and optimize inventory levels.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in retail management, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, including ERP and Meat matrix.
  • Proven ability to manage perishable products with short shelf life, particularly in the meat industry.
  • Basic understanding of FMCG environment and related legislation.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and suppliers.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Retail or Business or related qualification (advantageous).
