About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Materials & Production Planner to join our team in South Africa. As a key member of our operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth production planning and control processes. With a strong background in manufacturing or warehousing, you will assist with production planning and control to ensure on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with production planning and control to ensure on-time delivery
- Prepare and support operations plans (OPS) and MRP forecasting
- Generate daily production plans and reschedule as required
- Monitor and report production vs plan performance
- Assist with WIP control, job variance analysis, and corrective action plans
- Support monthly stock takes (raw materials and work-in-progress)
- Coordinate dispatch and transport planning for finished goods
- Liaise with customers and internal teams regarding delivery dates and service levels
- Maintain accurate planning, production, and stock records
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment
- Exposure to production planning, materials planning, or supply chain coordination
- Strong planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Knowledge of ERP systems advantageous (SYSPRO advantageous)
- Basic lean manufacturing knowledge an advantage
Qualifications
- Relevant degree, diploma, or certificate
