Job Description

⭐ NEW Senior Human Resources Vacancy – Cape Town (Bantry Bay) Director of Human Resources – Luxury Hotel (340 rooms) ➡️ Live-out Role | Market-related package | Cape Town-based candidates strongly preferred Kendrick Recruitment is recruiting a dynamic, strategic Director of Human Resources for a busy luxury hotel in Bantry Bay, Cape Town. This is a newly created executive role , reporting directly to the General Manager, responsible for shaping and driving the hotel’s people strategy, culture, and talent development as the property continues its journey toward elevated luxury standards. Key Responsibilities • Develop and implement a hotel-wide HR strategy aligned to business objectives, service excellence, and culture transformation • Lead and mentor the HR team, ensuring strong operational HR delivery across a 24/7 hospitality environment • Drive end-to-end talent management: recruitment strategy, onboarding, retention, succession planning, leadership development • Champion employee engagement, performance management, learning and development, and organisational effectiveness • Oversee employee relations, including complex disciplinary processes, CCMA matters, and labour law best practice • Ensure compliance across BCEA, LRA, EEA, POPIA (where applicable), HR governance, and internal policies • Partner with the Executive Committee and department heads on workforce planning, structure, and capability building • Implement HR analytics and reporting to measure impact and guide decision-making • Support transformation and diversity objectives in line with hospitality standards and legislative requirements Minimum Requirements • Senior HR leadership experience within the luxury hospitality sector, at large hotel level essential • Strong understanding of hotel operations (Rooms Division, F&B, banqueting, and support departments) • Proven track record in building culture, improving engagement, and driving performance through people strategy • Excellent knowledge of South African labour legislation and employee relations processes • Strong leadership presence, credibility at executive level, and the ability to influence and drive change • Highly organised, emotionally mature, discreet, and professional Role Notes • Live-out role • Cape Town-based candidates preferred due to business requirements and operational collaboration To Apply Please submit your CV, contactable references, and a recent head and shoulders photograph ASAP.
