Job Description

A the Solar Sales Consultant you will educate homeowners/businesses on solar benefits, assessing the energy needs, designs customized systems, prepares quotes/proposals, explains financing/incentives, and manages the sales process from lead to installation, requiring strong communication, sales, and analytical skills to meet targets and drive sustainable energy adoption. Key Responsibilities Prospecting & Lead Management: Generate leads through various channels (inbound/outbound, door-to-door) and maintain a healthy sales pipeline. Customer Consultation: Meet with clients (in-person/virtual) to understand energy usage, budget, and sustainability goals. System Design & Proposal: Conduct site assessments, use software to design solar solutions, calculate ROI, and prepare detailed proposals and quotes. Sales & Negotiation: Present solutions, explain benefits (cost savings, environmental impact), handle objections, and close deals. Project Oversight: Coordinate with installation teams, manage customer expectations, and ensure a smooth transition to project completion. Market Knowledge: Stay updated on solar technology, local incentives, tax credits, and regulations. Essential Skills & Qualifications Sales Acumen: Proven experience in sales, excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. Technical Aptitude: Understanding of solar equipment, systems, and site suitability. Analytical Skills: Ability to assess energy needs, calculate financial benefits, and create effective proposals. Customer Focus: Strong relationship-building and customer service skills. Adaptability: Willingness to work flexible hours, travel, and stay current with industry trends. Typical Requirements Education: Often a degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field; sometimes technical/engineering backgrounds for more complex roles. Experience: Prior sales experience, preferably in solar or a related industry.
