The Warehouse is responsible to consistently provide on time order fulfilment and delivery of quality consignments to our Members, ensuring Member expectations are met, to retain our existing loyal member base and build a strong reputation that attracts new business. We will achieve this through accurate stock management and improvement on existing processes.
- 3. Position Overview
Qualifications Diploma / Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
Experience Minimum 5-years’ experience in Warehouse / Supply Chain Management and FMCG environments / 3 years relevant Managerial experience / WMS and ERP systems experience / ISO experience advantageous
Knowledge Knowledge of business and management principles.
Managing budgets
Warehousing, Distribution and Transportation processes
Health & Safety Regulations
Space Optimisation – Layout & Design
Knowledge of WMS and ERP systems
Knowledge of Six-Sigma methodology
Comfortable with the Microsoft Office suite
Purpose
The purpose of the position is to ensure the business and member demands and productivity targets are met by efficiently managing and controlling the warehouse operations in line with approved budgets and service levels (SLA).
- 1. Logistics Maestro: Oversee the seamless flow of goods, optimise processes to minimize delays and maximize efficiency.
- 2. Inventory Guru: Maintain accurate inventory records and implement strategies to optimize stock levels, reducing both shortages and excess.
- 3. Safety Steward: Prioritise workplace safety by enforcing protocols and regulations, conducting regular inspections, and promoting a culture of safety among warehouse staff.
- 4. Efficiency Expert: Streamline warehouse operations through process improvements and automation, ensuring timely order fulfilment and minimal wastage.
- 5. Team Leader: Inspire and empower warehouse staff to achieve their full potential, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- 6. Quality Controller: Implement quality control measures to ensure that goods meet established standards before leaving the warehouse, reducing the risk of returns or customer dissatisfaction.
- 7. Problem Solver: Address any issues or challenges that arise in warehouse operations promptly and effectively, finding innovative solutions to minimize disruption and maintain productivity.
- 4. Job Requirements – Functional Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage day to day operations Ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched in line with agreed to service level agreements (SLA’s).
- Manage operational and cost of employment budgets while maintaining quality service levels.
- Ensure efficient use of space whilst adhering to stacking and storage principles.
- Ensure adequate resourcing and stock accuracy and availability.
- Define, implement and execute in accordance with stock policies.
- Set and manage access control procedures.
- Implement and control stock transfer/receving policies and procedures within the warehouse.
- Ensure all orders reach the Courier timeously on a daily basis.
- Manage consumable expense and stock levels.
- Monitor the flow of orders from the sales floor and liaise with Sales floor Manager. Crew KPI performance is measurable and managed.
- Processes are clearly documented, and Crew is trained.
- Daily SLA is met
- Inventory is managed and accurately maintained physically and virtually.
- Develop a dynamic, efficient and quality driven work environment Demonstrate and embed the group vision, values and culture.
- Promote a company culture that encourages top performance and high morale.
- Ensure operations are executed in line with defined standards.
- Manage all legal compliance and occupational health and safety requirements to have zero DIFR.
- Maintain the security measures necessary to preserve the integrity of the goods.
- Perform quality controls and monitor kit and promo building, and Warehouse KPIs Clear vision, value and culture is a continuous process cascading from top to bottom.
- Achieve monthly QC pass rate targets.
- OH&S targets are met on a monthly basis.
- People Management Direct and develop direct reports.
- Ensure all staff are empowered through skills development.
- Evaluate performance and productivity.
- Ensure an engaged and empowered workforce.
- Implement and manage all People Support policies and practices consistently.
- Review workloads and manpower to ensure targets are met. Crew KPI performance is measurable and managed.
- Weekly Supervisor discussions on previous week performance and ways of improvement.
- Workloads are evenly spread across teams.
- Target capacity utilisation is achieved.
- Crew are informed and adhere to PS policies and procedures.
- Strategic input Provide input to strategic decisions from a policy and planning perspective as it pertains to area of responsibility.
- Regularly review staffing requirements.
- Review policies, practices and processes.
- Keep up to date in industry standards and trends.
- Identify gaps within Warehouse based on needs that arise due to continuous changes in demands or advancements. Polices and processes are reviews to aligned
- Unnecessary wastages are minimised and improved upon.
