About the Role

RPO Recruitment’s client, a reputable civil engineering consulting firm in South Africa, urgently requires an experienced Bridge Resident Engineer for a major road infrastructure project based in Durban. The appointment is for ±19 months and may be extended. This is an urgent opportunity to be involved in a significant infrastructure development within the province.

Key Responsibilities

Manage projects related to bridge construction and large culvert structures
Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with engineering standards
Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Prepare and submit reports on project progress and findings

Requirements

Bachelor’s/BEng or BTech/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering
Professional registration as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng (essential)
Minimum of 15 years relevant experience in construction supervision
Proven experience in major bridge structures and large culvert construction
Strong site supervision, coordination, and compliance capabilities

Qualifications

BSc/BEng or BTech/Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering
Professional registration as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng (essential)
