About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer High Voltage to join our team on complex high-voltage substation projects. As technical lead, you will be responsible for ensuring alignment between design, construction, and commissioning, while managing technical planning, progress tracking, risk identification, and mitigation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Take end-to-end technical responsibility for high-voltage substation projects from design through to commissioning
- Coordinate primary and secondary engineering activities across multidisciplinary project teams
- Act as technical lead within complex HV projects, ensuring alignment between design, construction, and commissioning
- Manage technical planning, progress tracking, risk identification, and mitigation activities
- Support project budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning in collaboration with project management
- Interface with TSOs, grid operators, industrial clients, and other key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards, safety requirements, and quality systems
- Provide technical guidance and oversight throughout all project phases
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering
- Extensive experience on high-voltage projects within the 110380 kV range
- Strong background in both primary and secondary high-voltage engineering
- Proven experience acting as technical lead on complex engineering projects
- Experience with project planning, budgeting, progress tracking, and risk management
- Hands-on experience working with TSOs, grid operators, or industrial clients
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans, with willingness to learn Dutch
