About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Section Manager to join our team at Farm Manager SA, responsible for overseeing the growth and management of flowers and vegetables. The ideal candidate will have a strong agricultural background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and work with a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage seedling production and growth
- Supervise and train staff in flower and vegetable cultivation
- Monitor and control pests, diseases, and environmental factors affecting crops
- Implement efficient irrigation systems and maintenance schedules
- Maintain accurate records of crop yields, inventory, and financial performance
Requirements
- Agricultural diploma or degree
- Qualification in horticulture and/or agronomy advantageous
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in growing seedlings
- Previous flower (roses) and vegetable experience
- Computer literate
- Strong management skills
- Ability to motivate and work with a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Agricultural diploma or degree from a recognized institution
- Relevant qualification in horticulture and/or agronomy (e.g. National Diploma, BSc)
