About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join our team in Cape Town. With a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a Toolmaker in the manufacturing industry, you will be responsible for ensuring the production of high-quality components and tools. Your technical expertise will be crucial in maintaining die maintenance and tooling, as well as operating various machinery safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture and repair moulds, machine components, and related tooling to exact specifications
- Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related machinery safely and efficiently
- Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to produce components and ensure production aligns with design requirements
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of tools
- Ensure tools meet required tolerances and quality standards
Requirements
- Minimum 3 to 5 years experience as a Toolmaker in the manufacturing industry
- Technical Competencies: Die Maintenance / Tooling
- Trade Tested Toolmaker (Red Seal certification preferred)
- Strong knowledge of machining, tooling, and CNC programming
- Excellent attention to detail and precision
- Mould & Component Maintenance Assess tooling from production and initiate maintenance work orders
Qualifications
- Grade 12 / N2 minimum Trade Tested Tool, Jig, and Die Maker (MERSETA)
- Proficient in operating and maintaining all major toolroom machinery
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities
- Sound understanding of technical drawings and specifications
