About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Qualified Painter to join our team in Durban. With over 35 years of post-trade experience, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality workmanship. Your strong knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, combined with your ability to work at heights and in various environments, make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and priming
Apply paint, varnish, sealers, and coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
Read and interpret job instructions, drawings, or specifications
Mix and match paints to the required colours and finishes
Repair damaged surfaces such as cracks, peeling paint, or plaster defects
Ensure all work meets quality standards and client expectations
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition
Comply with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations at all times

Requirements

Qualified Painter with a recognised Trade Test Certificate
Minimum 35 years post-trade experience as a Painter
Strong knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques
Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial painting
Ability to work at heights and in various environments
Good understanding of health and safety practices
