About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. As an integral part of our financial operations, you will play a crucial role in managing our accounts receivable function, ensuring timely payments from customers, and maintaining accurate records of transactions. If you have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and experience in accounts receivable or billing, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Generate and send accurate and timely statements of accounts or required reports to customers.
Monitor and follow up on outstanding balances and past due accounts via emails and calls.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
Act as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries and discrepancies related to accounts receivable, responding promptly and professionally to resolve issues and maintain positive customer relationships.
Implement collection strategies to minimize outstanding receivables and reduce delinquency, contacting customers to secure payment on overdue accounts and escalating issues as necessary.
Prepare regular reports on accounts receivable status, including aging analysis, cash flow projections, and collection effectiveness metrics, providing insights and recommendations to management based on analysis of receivables data.

Requirements

Proven experience in accounts receivable, billing, or related financial roles.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to speak French fluently.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
