About the Role
The Robotics & Vision Systems Specialist position in the Paint Shop – Production at a well-established automotive company based in Kariega requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to ensure the optimal performance of integrated automated Robotic & Vision systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing operational performance, benchmarking new technologies, and providing expert support during complex breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the integrated automated Robotic & Vision systems within Paint shop to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Maintain and optimize operational performance of both Robotic & Vision systems in line with company standards
- Actively benchmark, research, and introduce new future technologies in line with company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with stakeholders internal & external to identify opportunities to solve problems through technological advancements
- Determine adequate spare part requirements for both existing and future installations
- Provide on-the-job training to shift technicians & engineers
- Prepare business cases to obtain funding for projects
- Provide knowledge and support to Paint Shop maintenance personnel during breakdowns (including after-hours)
- Identify obsolete equipment, thereby finding new and sustainable solutions for implementation
- Prepare professional presentations related to general topics, breakdowns, projects, and present to multiple levels
Requirements
- Have a Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics alternatively a National Diploma (Electrical)
- Certified Robots & PLC (Siemens Step7) training
