About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and hands-on Assistant F&B Manager to join an upmarket Boutique Hotel in the Natal Midlands. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated hospitality professional to work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager in a fast-paced, high-standard restaurant environment, contributing directly to creating memorable guest experiences while supporting and leading a dynamic service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in the smooth day-to-day running of the restaurant and service areas.
- Supervise and support F&B staff during shifts, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and professionally.
- Deliver and maintain high standards of guest service, handling guest queries or concerns promptly and courteously.
- Assist with staff scheduling, training, and basic administrative duties to support team development and operational efficiency.
- Uphold hygiene, health & safety standards, and service excellence at all times.
- Support stock control and cost-awareness initiatives, contributing to the overall profitability of the operation.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality supervisory role is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Hands-on; reliable, and genuinely guest-focused with a passion for hospitality.
- Flexibility to work weekends and shifts as required.
- Nationality – Only open to South African citizens.
Qualifications
- Previous supervisory experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Relevant qualifications or diplomas in hospitality or a related field (if applicable).
