About the Role
Our client in the Construction Industry is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing commercial support across multiple construction sites, ensuring that contractual opportunities, entitlements, and obligations are recognized and managed correctly.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial reviews of tenders and preparation of risks and opportunity schedules.
- Assist in the management of any contractual disputes that may arise.
- Prepare and negotiate joint venture, consortium, and subcontract agreements where necessary.
- Analyse and report on claims in dispute and prepare for arbitration and litigation where necessary.
- Remains up to date on all construction legislation and any new legislation in the industry.
Requirements
- 10 years’ commercial experience in the construction/contracting industry, preferably including large roads & earthworks and/or civil construction projects.
- Experience reviewing construction tender documentation and identifying risks.
- Experience in compiling and successfully concluding contractual claims.
- Experience in processing and successfully resolving contractual disputes, including through arbitration, adjudication, and other forms of dispute resolution.
Qualifications
- A post-graduate qualification in a related field (e.g. engineering, quantity surveying or construction management).
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a relevant field is not sufficient for this role – refer to Requirements section
