About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Temporary Sous Chef to join our team at a luxury boutique hotel in Ballito, KwaZulu-Natal. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting kitchen operations and leading the team in the absence of senior chefs. This live-out opportunity is ideal for a skilled culinary professional available immediately and confident in maintaining high standards in a fast-paced, upmarket kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support kitchen operations and lead the team in the absence of senior chefs
- Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety
- Manage stock control, ordering, and cost management
- Lead the team to achieve exceptional results and maintain a positive work environment
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef within a luxury hotel or fine-dining establishment
- Strong culinary skills with a keen eye for detail and presentation
- Ability to support kitchen operations and lead the team in the absence of senior chefs
- Experience with stock control, ordering, and cost management
- Solid knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen procedures
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef within a luxury hotel or fine-dining establishment (preferred)
