About the Role

HotelJobs, a hotel group in Cape Town, is seeking an experienced and skilled Reservationist to join their team. As the face of the hotel’s reservation department, you will be responsible for managing individual bookings with efficiency and precision, ensuring each guest’s stay begins with a seamless booking experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage individual accommodation reservation enquiries via phone, email, and online booking systems
  • Capture bookings accurately in the hotel reservation system and maintain up-to-date records
  • Process payments, deposits, and issue confirmations in line with hotel policy
  • Handle modifications, cancellations, and special requests with efficiency
  • Provide personalised recommendations to enhance guest stays (e.g., upgrades, packages, tours)
  • Liaise with front office, housekeeping, and F&B to ensure guest requirements are communicated clearly
  • Maximise occupancy by upselling available rooms and promotions
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on reservations activity, occupancy, and revenues
  • Monitor and respond to online reviews or reservation queries when required
  • Support with group reservations and tour operator bookings when necessary
  • Assist with guest correspondence before arrival, ensuring all details are confirmed and expectations are met

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in hotel reservations (4* or 5* property)
  • Working experience on Opera PMS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong guest relations skills with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work shifts and weekends when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (if applicable)
