Muizenberg: Technical Sales Representattive

Job Description

Key Responsibilities External Sales & Business Development Spend approximately 90% of the time in the field visiting existing and new customers Identify and develop new markets and sales opportunities Build long-term relationships and actively close deals (not an order-taking role) Prepare basic sales plans and strategies to grow market share Attend trade shows and exhibitions (e.g. agricultural and industry events) Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required (roughly every 2 months) Customer Training & Support Conduct customer training sessions both on-site and at customer premises Confidently present and explain technical products after the training period Internal Sales Cover (As Required) Provide counter sales and internal sales support during leave or sick cover Handle telephonic enquiries and walk-in customers when required Reporting & Administration Weekly customer visit reports Weekly and monthly Excel-based regional sales reports Maintain accurate CRM and sales system records Independence & Professional Conduct Work independently with minimal supervision after 34 months Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal staff Act with integrity, accountability, and initiative Training Provided Factory training (12 weeks) covering product assembly and technical knowledge Internal sales counter training (up to 2 weeks) Systems training (Syspro, CRM, Q-Bit or similar approx. 25 days) Minimum Requirements Several years of external sales experience (technical products essential) Background in technical sales ; swimming pool, pump, agricultural or industrial equipment Strong closing ability and relationship-building skills Fully computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook essential) Experience with Syspro or similar ERP/CRM systems advantageous Self-motivated, disciplined, and able to operate independently Willingness to travel extensively within the region Package & Benefits Basic Salary: Up to R28,000 per month (maximum, dependent on experience) Travel Allowance: R4,000 per month Fuel Card & Toll Fees: Company-paid Medical Aid: 50/50 company contribution (up to R3,500 pm, subject to conditions) Provident Fund: Company: 10% Employee: 7.5% 3-month waiting period Leave: 17 working days per annum Company Cell Phone: Provided Commission: Structured quarterly commission
