Job Description

The Stock Controller is responsible for managing and controlling all stock from raw materials through to finished goods. This includes maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring minimum stock levels on consumables and maintenance spares, and supporting efficient stock flow across departments. Key Responsibilities: Raw Material Control: Ensure correct and timely receipt, identification, and storage of all incoming raw materials. Maintain accurate records of raw material usage and reconcile against production data. Work-in-Progress (WIP) Monitoring: Track movement of stock throughout the production process to ensure continuous availability and prevent production downtime. Finished Product Reporting: Verify and capture finished goods data and prepare reports for internal use. Work closely with dispatch to coordinate outgoing stock and customer delivery requirements. Stock Auditing: Perform regular cycle counts and participate in full stock takes. Investigate discrepancies and take corrective actions where necessary. Consumables and Maintenance Stock Control: Monitor and maintain minimum stock levels for consumables and maintenance spare parts. Liaise with procurement to reorder when levels reach reorder points. Barcoding & Inventory Systems: Experience in barcoding and automated inventory systems will be beneficial. Ensure all stock movements are captured via the system and labels are properly managed. Compliance & Safety: Adhere to health and safety regulations in the storage and handling of materials. Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all stock items. Requirements: Proven experience in stock/inventory control or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Good understanding of materials flow from receipt to dispatch. Computer literacy with experience in ERP systems; barcoding system experience is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy. Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment. Physically fit to perform warehouse duties if necessary.
