About the Role
The Maintenance Manager/Planner role is a critical position in our packhouse operations, requiring a skilled professional with experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our production facilities, while also providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency
- Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Collaborate with production staff to identify and resolve equipment-related problems
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including documentation of repairs and replacements
- Provide training and support to junior maintenance personnel as needed
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience
- Relevant trade qualification is essential
- Minimum of 5 years as a qualified artisan with electrical expertise suited for production environments
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, refrigeration, boiler making, and rigging
- Experience in the agricultural or packhouse industry is an advantage
