About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Centurion: ECSA Fire Engineer to join our team at Bright Placements. As an ECSA-registered fire engineer, you will play a critical role in protecting people, property, and the environment from fire hazards while ensuring compliance with South African building regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design detection/suppression systems
- Analyze human behavior in emergencies
- Perform smoke control measures
- Ensure compliance with fire safety codes (e.g., SANS 10400-T)
- Conduct risk assessments for buildings
- Submit “rational designs” for building approvals
Requirements
- Registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
- Bachelor’s degree in a core engineering discipline (e.g., civil or mechanical)
- Specialized post-graduate studies in fire engineering (often through the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE))
- Knowledge of SANS 10400-T and other relevant fire safety codes
