About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Guide to join our luxury 5* Game Lodge in Thabazimbi. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest experiences, leading guided game drives and bush walks, and contributing to the overall operations of the Guides and Safari department.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all procedures for maintaining the overall operation of the Guides and Safari department
- Provide holistic safari experiences for guests on foot and by vehicle
- Assist with administrative tasks and mentorship/leadership of field guides
- Perform guest introductory and safety orientations, guided game drives, and interpretive bush walks
- Track and identify spoor, deliver informative lectures on ecological topics, and host drinks stops and other bush events
- Practice proficient and safe weapon handling as directed
- Contribute to the lodge’s social media platforms with relevant and appealing information
- Assist with incident handling in emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire, and flood
- Collect and communicate guest information prior to arrival
Requirements
- Level 2 full trails with FGASA Nature Site Guide NQF4 and Trails Guide qualification ARH
- Rifle Proficiency
- First Aid Level 1
- Drivers License and Pr-DP
- Previous experience as Field Guide at a Luxury Safari Lodge
