Job Description

1. Forklift Operations -Safely operate a forklift to move goods and materials within the warehouse. -Load and offload vehicles, ensuring all loads are properly secured. -Inspect forklifts daily, report defects, and maintain cleanliness and functionality. 2. Order Preparation and Dispatch -Pick and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all stock is correctly shrink-wrapped. -Stack completed orders in the dispatch area in an organized manner. -Apply the FIFO (First In, First Out) rule when handling stock. -Ensure no rejected or damaged items are loaded for dispatch. 3. Inventory Handling and Quality Control -Conduct checks on incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy and quality. -Assist in maintaining accurate inventory by updating stock records. -Perform regular cycle counts and report any discrepancies. 4. Safety and Maintenance -Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies during forklift operations. -Perform daily inspections of the forklift and report any mechanical issues or malfunctions. -Ensure proper handling of goods to prevent damage during transportation. 5. Warehouse Support -Assist with general warehouse duties, including organizing stock and maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. -Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient warehouse operations. -Valid Forklift License (essential) -Good physical health to perform warehouse and lifting tasks safely. -Sober habits no alcohol or drug use during work hours. -Good communication skills in English and/or Afrikaans. -Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate stock records. -Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies. -Grade 12 (Matric) preferred but not essential. -Valid South African ID (essential). -Experience with picking, packing, and dispatch preferred. -Own reliable transport (if applicable, depending on location/shift). Desirable / Advantageous: -Previous experience in a logistics, warehousing, or distribution environment. -Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar inventory systems. Working Conditions: -Based at the Provincial Logistics warehouse facility in Paarl. -Standard working hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07h00 17h00. -Weekend work (Saturdays) may be required on a rotational basis during peak periods or for stock counts. -Physically demanding role involving standing, lifting, and operating forklifts.
