Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Inventory Controller. The Inventory Controller plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, and ensuring efficient inventory management practices. Core Roles & Responsibilities Stock Monitoring & Replenishment: Continuously track inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking. This includes setting and adjusting reorder points and safety stock levels based on demand patterns. Auditing & Reconciliation: Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical audits to verify that the “system count” matches the “shelf count”. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies immediately. Supply Chain Logistics: Coordinate the receipt of incoming goods and the dispatch of outgoing orders. This often involves verifying delivery notes against physical shipments to ensure quality and quantity. Database Management: Maintain and update the Inventory Management System (IMS) or ERP . Forecasting & Analysis: Analyze historical sales data and seasonal trends to predict future stock requirements. This helps in planning for peak seasons and reducing the holding costs of “slow-moving” items. Vendor Liaison: Communicate with suppliers to track order statuses, manage returns of faulty merchandise, and negotiate delivery timelines. Shrinkage Control: Identify and reduce “shrinkage” caused by theft, damage, or administrative errors. This includes managing the removal of obsolete or expired stock. Essential Skills Technical Proficiency: Expertise in spreadsheet software (Advanced Excel) and warehouse management software. Attention to Detail: Precision is critical; a small error in data entry can lead to massive logistical failures. Numerical & Analytical Ability: Ability to calculate turnover ratios, carrying costs, and apply methods like ABC Analysis or FIFO/LIFO
