Job Summary

The BI Analyst/Developer will be responsible for the successful delivery of complex BI/Data projects. The role involves collaborating with senior stakeholders, designing and implementing data management solutions, and ensuring the quality and integrity of data. This individual will use agile methodologies to drive project success and provide insights that align with strategic business growth.

Duties /

Responsibilities:

Work on the successful implementation and execution of complex BI/Data projects within defined timelines.
Use agile and portfolio management methodologies to enhance project efficiency.
Provide strategic guidance to senior stakeholders by translating business demands into actionable data insights.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data management, business intelligence, and analytical tools.
Ensure adherence to data management best practices, focusing on data integrity, quality, and security.
Oversee IT systems and solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Present findings, updates, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Build and maintain strong relationships with business units to derive business benefits.

Key

Responsibilities:

Business Analysis:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and data-driven solutions.
Data Analysis and Visualisation:
- Develop reports, dashboards, and visualisations using Power BI.
- Create data models and perform data analysis to support decision-making.
Technical Development:
- Design, develop, and maintain data warehouses, databases, and ETL processes.
- Write SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
BI Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Ensure data quality, security, and governance.
- Troubleshoot and optimise BI systems for efficiency.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Present findings and insights to stakeholders.
- Work with IT teams to integrate BI solutions into other systems.

Data Warehousing for BI:

Maintain the SPW data warehouse to support BI solutions.
Develop and maintain ETL processes to extract data from various sources.
Ensure data quality, integrity, and performance in the data warehouse.
Implement data governance and security measures.
Optimise the data warehouse for query efficiency.

Microsoft BI Tools:

Develop and deploy reports using Microsoft SSRS and Power BI.
Design and implement ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS.
Manage and version control BI projects using Azure DevOps.

Skills and Experience Required:

5+ years of experience in BI development and analysis.
Experience in the financial services investment industry or strong understanding of the investment lifecycle across various asset types (Equities, ETFs, Unit Trusts, Fixed income, Derivatives).
Proficiency in Power BI and SQL.
Strong skills in data modelling, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
Experience with Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, and Azure DevOps.
Ability to work in a team environment and meet deadlines.

Knowledge and Skills:

Strong understanding of IT systems and various technologies.
Familiarity with market data, including instruments, pricing, and corporate actions.
Expertise in SQL and Power BI development.
Business knowledge and understanding of the broader industry environment.
