JOB DESCRIPTION: Job Title: Lead QA Engineer Employment Type: 12 months Contract, Hybrid Work Location: Johannesburg, CBD JOB CONTEXT: Join our team as a Lead QA Engineer In this role, you will be pivotal in managing data by identifying data ownership and managing metadata, defining data quality and reference standards, and remediating data quality issues, particularly with client data. You will propose tactical and strategic solutions to resolve ongoing issues while facilitating discussions on data ownership to ensure responsibilities are clearly assigned. Additionally, you`ll guide the ingestion of data into strategic platforms, working closely with source system owners to ensure accurate data placement. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design automation testing plans and develop automation test scripts for various technical products and services (pre, during, and post-deployment) in both `Run & Change` contexts, aligning with chosen application testing frameworks and guidelines. Conduct testing across front-end, back-end, integration, performance, scalability, and regression. Ensure products are protected through quantifiable test coverage and metrics. Proactively contribute to the full solution development lifecycle as a QA automation specialist within one or multiple squads. Actively participate in daily Scrum and project planning meetings. Analyze test automation requirements during the development and optimization phases, using design specifications and technical documentation. Prepare QA and automation testing documentation (planning, design, execution, and sustainability). Develop automation test plans and execute automated test scripts using various technologies (e.g., automated scripts, test harnesses, SQL scripts). Perform various types of automation testing (regression, integration, black box, scalability). Evaluate automated test cases, analyze, and report results. Facilitate test plan and case reviews within squads. Collaborate with product engineers to evaluate software/solution quality and provide recommendations for improvement. Contribute to the design and selection of testing frameworks for business applications. Deliver all automation and technical testing deliverables on time. Provide project/scrum-related feedback on deliverables (e.g., progress, tracking, quality). Conduct performance monitoring on applications/components for which youve designed and executed test scripts/plans. Produce quality and testing outcome metrics and reports. Follow engineering best practices and continuously improve QA capabilities. Leverage coding expertise to deploy testing requirements for specific products/services. Understand the full technical solution being tested and the viability of the code being developed. Shift from testing features to supporting full product delivery. Ensure compliance with technical risk and governance requirements. Maintain adherence to automation testing frameworks and standards. Proactively identify and communicate risks. Participate in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, and Incident Management processes as required, implementing mitigating actions. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 1. Years of Experience: 5 years experience in Testing. 8-10 years industry experience. Previous experience as a QA engineer. Analytical and Data analysis skills. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor`s degree in computer science, product management or relevant field. TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Quality Assurance and Technical skills. Experience in intensive testing programs, defining use cases and test scenarios linked to technical data analysis. Knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting metrics is essential. Proficient in using Excel extensively, including developing dashboards and conducting defect and impact analysis of data movements. Ability to liaise with senior stakeholders to define success criteria and critical data elements for reporting. Core understanding of General Ledger (GL), BA series reports, and related financial documentation. Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements, the Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework, and our Policies and Standards. Understand and manage risks and risk events (incidents) relevant to the role. MANDATORY SKILLS: Product management. Previous experience as a QA engineer. Analytical and Data analysis skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Collaboration Test Automation SQL Quality Assurance Technical skills. BENEFICIAL SKILLS: Knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting acumen. BA series. General Ledger. Risk Reports Metrics. PACKAGE & REMUNERATION: Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, applicable banking experience, and previous earnings.
