Job Summary
Duties -Centre Lathe Turner Setup and Operation : Set up and operate manual centre lathes for manufacturing pump components (shafts, casings, impellers). Adjust machine settings to achieve required dimensions and tolerances. Blueprint Interpretation : Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure parts meet specifications. Tool Selection and Maintenance : Select and maintain appropriate tools and fixtures for machining tasks. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot lathe equipment. Quality Control : Measure and inspect components using precision instruments (e.g., callipers, micrometres). Identify and correct defects before production progresses. Documentation : Maintain records of production activities, including quantities and inspection results. Document any changes made during machining processes. Collaboration : Work with engineering and production teams to provide feedback on designs. Safety Compliance : Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work area. Problem-Solving : Troubleshoot issues and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
