Job Summary
Qualifications and Experience Diploma or degree in Information Technology or related field. 1-3 years of experience in desktop support or technical support. Familiarity with desktop operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) is preferred. Skills and Competencies Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills to assist users of varying technical expertise. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in desktop support tools and ticketing systems preferred. Additional Requirements Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are preferred. Willingness to work flexible hours to support IT operations. Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed. Key Responsibilities Technical Support: Provide first-line support for hardware and software issues; troubleshoot and resolve technical problems efficiently. Hardware Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs on desktop and laptop hardware; manage IT equipment inventory. User Training: Educate users on proper system and software use; create user documentation and FAQs. Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with IT security policies; assist in implementing security measures. Collaboration: Work with IT team members to resolve complex issues and improve service delivery. Documentation: Maintain records of support requests and generate reports on support activities. Contract Details Primarily based in Tshwane, with flexibility to engage with various departments.
