Job Summary

Responsibilities:
Storage Design and Layout: Plan and implement effective Store layouts, ensuring maximum space utilization and ease of access Design storage solutions for a variety of items, including heavy machinery parts, tools, and consumables Establish and maintain binning strategies to optimize stock retrieval and replenishment Capex plan for storage facilities. Cataloguing and Inventory Management: Develop and maintain a catalogue of all stock items with clear and accurate descriptions Standardize item naming conventions and ensure alignment with SAP master data Assist in creating and maintaining item records, stock levels, and reorder points in SAP Process and Procedure Development: Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for stores management Implement and monitor best practices for stock handling, storage, and distribution Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations within the stores area SAP Master Data Management: Assist in the creation and maintenance of SAP material master data Collaborate with the procurement and logistics teams to ensure data accuracy and integrity Train Stores Controllers and other stakeholders in the use of SAP for inventory management Support and Training: Provide technical support and guidance to Stores Controllers Train staff on cataloguing, binning, and inventory management procedures Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of stores operations and recommend improvements Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve efficiency and reduce costs Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in inventory and warehouse management Minimum
Requirements:
Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field Minimum of 5 years experience in inventory or stores management, preferably in a mining or industrial environment Proficiency in SAP MM (Materials Management) or a similar ERP system Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse management Ability to design and implement effective binning and storage systems Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong organizational and time-management abilities Effective communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in a mining context Flexibility to work in remote locations and adapt to challenging environments Effective implementation of storage layouts and binning strategies Accuracy and completeness of SAP master data records Adherence to inventory management procedures and safety standards Reduction in stock discrepancies and operational downtime Timely and efficient training of Stores Controllers
