Job Summary
Work Skills Training Instructor: Retreat Workshop Cape Mental Health is a non-profit organisation that offers a comprehensive mental health service in the Western Cape. One of its projects working with adults with Intellectual Disability, Training Workshops Unlimited, seeks to employ a Work Skills Training Instructor that would be based at the TWU Retreat workshop. RESPONSIBILITIESA Work skills Instructor is responsible for imparting skills and knowledge to a group of adults with intellectual disability (who are medium in functioning) in a structured environment through the practical repetition of activities and lessons. The Instructor also imparts OLM practices and principles to our Trainees to enhance their skillsMust have the ability to work with customer products in satisfying costs, quality and schedule requirementsConduct trainee assessments twice a yearRegular communication with parents regarding progress of traineesPositive behavior management Maintain quality standards and perform regular inventory stock controlREQUIREMENTS1.Previous experience in a similar environment.2.Ability to work within a team environment3.Passion and patience in working with adults with intellectual disability4.Ability to apply problem solving methodology 5.Excellent interpersonal skills6.Be very proactive with good communication skills7.Honesty & Integrity8.Accommodating and supportive9.Matric,
