Job Summary
Join a leading EPC contractor specializing in providing engineered solutions in the water and wastewater treatment industry as a Junior Proposals Process Engineer, based in Riversands, Gauteng. In this role, you will report to the Sales Manager and be responsible for executing sales and process engineering services required for our client`s projects, ensuring they meet the agreed constraints of time, cost, and quality. The position involves both national and international travel.
This is a permanent opportunity with a three-month probation period. Prior experience in a Tender and Sales Department would be beneficial. The company is seeking a motivated and energetic candidate with a keen eye for detail, strong administrative skills, and the ability to learn quickly. The ideal candidate will be a Chemical/Process Engineer looking for an opportunity to grow and develop within the Sales and Marketing department of the company.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: a Chemical Process Engineering qualification such as BEng, BSc, BTech, or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering will be considered.
- Sales experience: Beneficial, but not mandatory.
- Process engineering experience
- Tender submission experience: Exposure to tender submissions and handling quotes will be beneficial.
- Presentation skills – Strong PowerPoint skills required.
- Drivers License: Valid drivers license
- Passport: Valid passport required.
- Willingness to travel: Must be willing to travel both nationally and internationally.
- Valid ID RSA Citizen
Duties:
- Schedule and prepare for Go/No Go meetings.
- Execute process engineering and design for the tendering of projects.
- Interpretation and implementation of Clients requirements and specifications.
- Propose original and cost-effective alternative solutions.
- Preparation of Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs) and Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
- Preparation of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) with the assistance of the drawing office.
- Preparation of General Arrangement Drawings (GAs) with the assistance of the drawing office.
- Preparation of design calculations and mass balances.
- Compilation of equipment schedules.
- Prepare Request for Quotations.
- Setting up of Supplier Quotation Evaluation criteria and completing the evaluations.
- Communicating with suppliers regarding technical requirements for tenders.
- Compilation of internal cost sheets.
- Preparation of technical and commercial documentation for tenders.
- Update of Pipedrive on a regular basis.
- Assisting with NEWGen related tasks and costing.
- Compilation of Operation and Maintenance (O&M) proposals.
- Addressing technical and commercial clarifications during bid evaluation and contract negotiations.
- Arranging Project Kick-off meetings including complete handover of a tender to the dedicated Project
- Manager after contract award.
- When required, represent the company during site visits and meetings with potential clients.
- Assisting with marketing related tasks including attending exhibitions.
- Any other work-related tasks assigned by the direct line manager or nominated representative.
