Job Summary
A leading South African logistics company is looking for a Senior Application Support specialist to join their dynamic Managed Services team. You will play a crucial role in supporting their in-house software applications, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring seamless service delivery to their clients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed troubleshooting and provide escalations to the Development (DEV) team where necessary.
- Apply SQL knowledge and database concepts, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Demonstrate proficiency with TSQL, writing and optimizing queries as needed.
- Assist with user training, guidance, and troubleshooting to resolve application-related issues.
- Support the roll-out of new software applications and system updates.
- Provide advanced technical support for application-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to Ticket Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and follow up on resolutions.
- Test and provide feedback on new system enhancements and updates.
- Maintain master data and ensure consistency across systems.
- Assist the team with SQL writing and complex troubleshooting tasks.
Requirements:
- Completed Diploma in an IT related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in an client facing environment.
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience with SQL (including TSQL).
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Proven track record in software testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Familiarity with Fresh Service, Freshdesk, GITLAB, ASANA would be advantageous.
- Solid understanding of remote software tools (e.g., RDP, TeamViewer, VPN).
