Engineering Technician – HVAC Location: Western Region Type: Permanent Keep systems running. Deliver reliable, efficient, and compliant HVAC operations. About the Role This position is a hands-on technical role within the Maintenance Engineering team, supporting the reliability, compliance, and efficiency of HVAC systems across data centres and facilities. The Engineering Technician will ensure that assets are maintained, recommissioned, and optimised to meet operational and regulatory requirements, while providing specialist technical support to the wider business. What You’ll Do Deliver maintenance support to resolve plant and equipment issues. Manage asset data in CMMS (SAP) and maintain accurate records. Recommission HVAC and building management system equipment to original design standards. Conduct failure investigations, quality audits, and compile technical reports. Provide inputs for maintenance service contracts and statutory compliance requirements. Offer Level 2 breakdown support and reinstatement of equipment. Perform heat load and ventilation calculations; design small HVAC/ventilation systems. Approve project specifications for compliance and maintainability. Analyse equipment performance data to drive improvements. Compile monthly data centre engineering reports and attend client technical meetings. What You Bring B Tech, S4, or N6 in Mechanical/Refrigeration & Air-conditioning Engineering (Electrical qualification is an advantage). 10–15 years’ experience in HVAC design and maintenance. Professional registration/trade in Refrigeration and Air-conditioning. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and schematics. Experience in root-cause analysis, incident investigation, and technical reporting. Proficiency with SAP CMMS and MS Office; capable of heat load calculations. Code B driver’s licence – frequent travel required. Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
