About the Role

The General Manager is a critical role in our distribution centre, responsible for managing and performing various operations to ensure seamless customer service and efficient supply chain management. The successful candidate will oversee warehouse operations, inventory, transport, and customer service, while also ensuring driver health and safety and creating a conscious food culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all quality audits are passed.
  • Improve operational KPI’s year on year.
  • Oversee Inventory Management.
  • Review Replenishment put-away and Inventory control operations.
  • Achieve the budgeted cost per case per DC.
  • Master delivery schedule: Ensures DC master schedules are optimal, accommodate growth, and meet customer needs.
  • Address and mitigate operational risks promptly.
  • Lead the food safety Team and update them on all relevant changes and or improvements.

Requirements

  • 8 – 12 years of Senior Distribution Centre Operational Management experience in Warehousing & Distribution, Transport, FMCG, or Similar.
  • Relevant tertiary degree, honors degree in Business / Supply Chain Management or similar; an MBA would be advantageous.
  • Computer literacy required: MS Office (PowerPoint, Projects, Word, Outlook) and Advanced Excel skills.

  • Completed relevant tertiary degree or honors degree in Business / Supply Chain Management or similar.
