Job Summary
JOB TITLE: JUNIOR BUYERDEPARTMENT:HEAD OFFICELOCATION: BenoniPRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing raw materials, components, and services to meet the production and customer requirements. This role evaluates and analyses supplier quotes, negotiates prices, maintains relationships with vendors, and ensures orders are delivered on time. BUYER/PLANNER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSource, negotiate, and select vendors that meet the companys quality, price, and delivery requirementsDevelop and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliersMonitor supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and deliveryReview and analyze purchase requisitions and generate purchase ordersMonitor inventory levels to ensure minimum stock levels are maintainedEnsure timely delivery of items and follow up with vendors on late ordersResolve invoice discrepancies with vendorsMaintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important dataPrepare reports on purchase activity and supplier performanceBUYER/PLANNER REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONSRelevant tertiary qualification in procurement3+ years of experience in purchasing, buying, and/or planning preferredExcellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsStrong knowledge of purchasing principles and proceduresProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentStrong organizational and time management skillsAble to work independently and collaboratively with a teamSend e-mail to The FX Group (Pty) Ltd
