Our client , a leading supplier of building products based in Bloemfontein , is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Floor Sales Representative to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting customers on the shop floor, providing expert product advice, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, a passion for sales, and an interest in the agricultural and building sector. Minimum requirements Matric Minimum of 3 years’ experience within retail sales, preferably in building supplies Valid driver’s license and own vehicle Fluent in English and Afrikaans Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physically able to assist with stock handling and floor merchandising Computer literacy, including point-of-sale systems and basic MS Office Basic numeracy skills for handling transactions and stock levels MUST be willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays Skills required Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills Strong communication skills , both verbal and written Sales and upselling skills to maximize revenue opportunities Strong product knowledge or willingness to learn about agricultural and hardware products Ability to work under pressure in a busy retail environment Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities Problem-solving skills to assist customers effectively Time management and organizational skills to manage floor tasks efficiently Duties and responsibilities Greet and assist customers on the shop floor, providing expert advice on agricultural and building products Maintain product knowledge to offer accurate recommendations and solutions Process sales transactions efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system Ensure the shop floor is clean, organized, and fully stocked at all times Assist with receiving, unpacking, and arranging stock on the sales floor Support promotions, displays, and merchandising initiatives Manage customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally Collaborate with the team to achieve sales targets and provide a positive customer experience Monitor and report stock levels and inventory discrepancies Follow company policies and safety regulations at all times Remuneration Negotiable, depending on experience Work hours Monday – Friday: 07h30 – 18h00 Saturdays: 07h30 – 15h00 Sundays: 09h00 – 13h00 IMPORTANT: Applications close 26 February 2026 If you did not receive feedback within 14 days, please consider your application unsuccessful Only applications submitted via the Ditto Jobs platform will be considered Only candidates who meet all our client’s minimum requirements will be contacted
