Job Description
A busy and well-established dental practice in the East Rand of Gauteng is looking for an experienced, HPCSA-Registered Dental Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be professional, well-presented, have good work ethic and be reliable.
The ideal starting date would be: As soon as possible
Minimum Requirements:
- HPCSA-registered Dental Assistant (non-negotiable)
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental practice
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilisation protocols, and chair-side assisting
- Proficiency in GoodX (or similar billing/patient management systems) would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills with a friendly, patient-focused approach
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and support the clinical team efficiently
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Assisting the dentist chair-side during procedures
- Preparing and sterilising instruments and equipment
- Taking and recording patient histories
- Setting up treatment rooms and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards
- Supporting with digital patient records and documentation
- Educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Helping the practice run smoothly by assisting the team wherever needed
Salary: Market-related (depending on experience)
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:30 (no weekends)
