Job Summary

Mechanical Design DraughtsmanSalary: NegotiableBoksburg To create precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems while ensuring compliance with SABS and industry safety standards. This role also supports product development, technical documentation, and interdepartmental coordination.Key Responsibilities:Produce detailed CAD drawings (2D & 3D) according to SABS 0111 standardsMaintain and manage design records and technical documentationSupport product updates, design improvements, and engineering changesFollow internal design office procedures and numbering protocolsCollaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customersEnsure compliance with CE, OHS Act, and other safety standardsAssist with new product development and provide technical supportSubmit weekly progress reports and flag project concerns or improvementsRequirements:810 years’ experience in mechanical CAD designExcellent detailing skills including tolerances, welding symbols, and drawing principlesERP system experience (e.g. Business Central) & BOM managementSkilled in measuring equipment and on-site measurementSolid knowledge of manufacturing and material processingUnderstanding of mechanical testing, CE compliance, and OHS ActDiploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with subjects: Technical Drawing, Strengths of Materials and Machine Design.
