• Grade 12 and/or 
• Certificated Fitter or Diesel Mechanic Trade Test section 26D or Section 13
• 2 – 3 years underground experience 
• Must have own transport and a valid SA driver’s license.
• Good general health AND a certificate of fitness (Red Ticket).

• Ability to communicate in English (written & verbal) and one other official language.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure that a good standard of safety awareness is maintained.
• Ensure that section personnel comply with the required Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
• Ensure good housekeeping standards and maintenance.
• Daily, Weekly and Monthly inspections to be done.
• Maintenance on all machinery underground.
• Ensure that condition monitoring of equipment, scheduled and planned maintenance are conducted effectively.
• Timely response to breakdown management, conduct appropriate root cause analysis and diagnosis.
• Conduct expansions and construction of new equipment or installations as per works order.
• Identify spares requirements.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
