The Boiler Operator will oversee the overall operation of the Boiler House, ensuring continuous and sustainable steam generation. This includes managing day-to-day Boiler Steam Generator operations and maintaining optimal performance. Responsibilities include the safe operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of boilers in compliance with Pressure Equipment Regulations. Key duties involve monitoring steam and boiler systems, performing routine inspections, adjusting controls, and conducting preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and efficiency. Minimum Requirements – Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent. – Valid boiler operator certification. – Knowledge of boiler systems, combustion, and fuel handling. – Mechanical or technical training. – Familiarity with safety regulations and boiler inspection standards. – Must be able to read and write technical documentation. – Experience working at heights and in confined spaces. – Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and planning skills. – Strong time management and decision-making capabilities. – Ability to work independently and as part of a team. – Precision and attention to detail in all tasks. – Excellent leadership and communication skills. – Ability to mentor and train junior staff. – Strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills. – Understanding of emergency procedures.
