This role will involve managing cloud-native database services, working closely with SQL Server databases, and providing optimization and performance tuning expertise. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in advanced SQL Server services and have excellent communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. What you’ll do: Administer and maintain cloud-native database services, including Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance (MIS). Manage SQL Server databases, particularly SQL Server 2016, 2019, and newer versions, with a focus on database design, optimization, and performance tuning. Design and implement advanced SQL Server services such as AlwaysOn Availability Groups, database mirroring, replication, SSIS, SSRS, and clustering. Perform data modeling, normalization, and denormalization, ensuring adherence to best practices for database schema design. Optimize SQL Server performance through query optimization, index tuning, and server configuration. Work closely with clients to understand their business needs, provide recommendations, and communicate technical solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Troubleshoot and resolve any database-related issues in a timely manner, ensuring high availability and performance. Your expertise: Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in a multi-tiered, multi-client environment. Proficiency with cloud-native database services, specifically Azure SQL Database and Managed Instance. Extensive experience working with SQL Server databases, with in-depth knowledge of SQL Server 2016, 2019, and newer versions. Expertise in advanced SQL Server services, including AlwaysOn, database mirroring, replication, SSIS, SSRS, and clustering. Strong skills in data modeling, database design, optimization, and performance tuning. Proven ability to optimize SQL Server performance through query optimization, index tuning, and server configuration. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with clients to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Preferred Skills: Experience working in cloud environments, particularly Azure. Knowledge of other database platforms and technologies would be advantageous.
