Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage a specific section of the kitchen (e.g., grill, pastry, or sauce). Prepare and cook dishes to the highest standards, ensuring consistency and presentation. Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff within your section. Monitor ingredient quality, portion control, and food waste. Ensure compliance with kitchen hygiene and safety regulations. Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas to enhance the dining experience. Communicate effectively with the Sous Chef and Executive Chef to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements:
South African ID or valid work permit. Minimum 2-3 years` experience in a similar role within a 4 or 5-star hotel . A culinary qualification is preferred . Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards. Ability to handle high-pressure situations and work in a fast-paced environment. Passion for cooking and a commitment to delivering excellence. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
